Frequently Asked Questions

From what age can I start the process with DREAM?

You can start the full counseling program up to 3 years before graduating. We believe that the more time you have to prepare, the better results you can obtain. So, if you are thinking of studying abroad, start your process with us right now. However, if you want to start earlier, starting at age of 12 you can join CLOUD, our project incubator.

What service should I take?

Each of our services solves a different need in the application process. We invite you to get in touch with our advisors so that we can help you understand which service or services would be best for you and your goals.

Are DREAM classes and consultancies face-to-face or virtual?

At DREAM all of our classes and advising sessions are virtual. This allows us to have tutors and counselors from the best universities in the world, who are able to serve all our students regardless of geographical or physical location. Thanks to technology, DREAM is able to offer very high quality services to all of our students in the different programs.

To which countries can I apply with DREAM?

From DREAM we have placed students in prestigious universities in academic destinations including: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Spain, Australia and among many others. We believe in a global approach to the application process.

Can DREAM help me get scholarships?

In our Full Counseling program we help you find merit based scholarships and financial aid if you are eligible in accordance with each university’s requirements.

How difficult is it to access scholarships and financial aid?

Both financial aid and scholarships are highly competitive processes. However, having a strong and well-structured application increases your chances of accessing these benefits.

Do you also advise postgraduate students?
No. For now our focus is on the undergraduate application processes, hoping to expand to postgraduate during 2022. However, preparation for exams such as TOEFL or IELTS are applicable for both processes and we will be happy to help you.
What is SAT?

SAT is a standardized test that measures a student’s abilities in three different areas: critical reading, math, and writing. The SAT is an entrance exam used by most universities in the United States to make admission decisions. The exam is a paper-and-pencil multiple-choice exam created and administered by the College Board.

Why is it necessary to take the TOEFL or IELTS?
It is necessary to take the TOEFL or the IELTS as this is the way in which universities ensure that international applicants have a sufficient level of English to be able to attend classes and take exams in that language. The minimum score is determined by each university. This score can be found on the page of each of the universities.
What exams do I need to take to apply?

In the case of the USA, most universities ask for the TOEFL and the SAT (in several universities the SAT is optional due to the pandemic) and in Europe the IELTS can be taken to replace the TOEFL.

How difficult is it to apply to universities abroad?

The application processes to universities are tedious, since they have several processes and requirements. It should be understood what universities are looking for and how the application process works, since it is a complex process that requires many variables and that is why it is advisable to have an accompaniment in it.

How many universities can we apply to?

We recommend that you apply from 8 to 12 universities, because by having this number we have a range of opportunities, where you will have enough chances of acceptance, but where the number of applications is not so high either, which could affect the quality of your application. .

Is it easy to make friends?

This is one of the strengths of the Dream program since the student is being accompanied by students or alumni from the best universities in the world, which guarantees that the student gets to know these non-academic aspects first-hand.

How feasible is it to work and study in the different places?

Universities abroad and student visas allow, in most cases, to work up to 20 hours per week. Many students study and work at the same time and universities offer some paid positions to work in the institution (Work-Study Opportunities). These positions are usually, for example, in university bookstores, cafeterias or restaurants.

To work after finishing your studies, you usually have to obtain a work visa that is sponsored by the student’s work. Usually, many students choose to stay in the country of the institution or even apply to other destinations. Having a degree from abroad allows you to have a much more competitive profile.

Is it a requirement to use the DREAM App?

The DREAM app can be used initially by all of our students at no cost. However, if you like our service and want to unlock more features and tools that will further help you with your application process, you can subscribe to one of our different Premium and DREAM plans.
